Well Christmas was wonderful, but I must admit, I am glad it's over or at least the cooking, wrapping, and shopping aspect of it. I am guessing we were victorious over our Christmas Marathon, course if you ask the boys there were the 1st place winners....which is fine by me!
Hoss is 8 but wise for his age (my opinion anyway) thought he read his Nana's lips Sunday night when he yelled " I KNEW IT! YOU'RE GONNA FILL THOSE STOCKINGS!" Nana retaliated by yelling "NO WAY BUD! ONLY SANTA CAN DO THAT! I was only telling Scotty I would turn out the lights in the living room" So off she went to "turn out the lights", in the meantime Scotty and I nestled into our overblown air mattress (or it became overblown when I laid on it) to escape all the madness to a wonderful deep sleep. I was awoke at 1:30 am with Hoss in my back, and since I was laying in the middle and the sides were so poofed out I was not capable of rolling him out from under my back and back up the hill to hopefully roll him back off the side of the bed to his sleeping bag. I was very unsuccessful! So I decided I would just get up and go pee and hopefully I could roll him off then, Scotty being so much smarter then me had gotten up sometime before I woke up and went to sleep on the couch. Well on my way to the edge of the bed, every ounce of grace I had left my body, because I flopped and flopped and finally got close enough to the edge (or so I thought) to where I could grab a hold of the edge and sit up like a normal person, but no that big hill of air that I desperately tried to roll Hoss over had escaped the edge of the bed and rolled under me so fast that I flipped right onto the floor, and while I was down there crawling on my knees I discovered I could not push myself up from the floor by holding on the bed because the air hated me, as I shoved down on the bed, the air moved and suddenly I was still on my hands and knees but this time that corner of the bed I was trying to use was flat as a dang pancake! So after crawling around and laughing at my self I did manage to make it to the bathroom before I wet all over the carpet.
I creeped into the living room where Scotty was resting like a little baby, so I walked up to him and thumped him as hard as I could and said "What the!!!! why didn't you wake me up, Hoss was stuck under my back, then I fell in the floor, and there is no way I am gonna get back in that bed!" Without saying a word, he went and got me a blanket, gave me the couch and he crept to the recliner.
Needless to say I did not get much sleep the night before Christmas' Eve! So I make it through the day, and get Hoss back in time to go to his Dad's for Christmas. Hoss returns at 11:30 pm, I put him and Braxton to bed, well easier said then done. Our day was spent eating all the homemade goodies, so Braxton was wired on enough sugar to stay awake for weeks. Which he tried to do I think, he did not go to sleep until 2:30am, so Scotty and I got to bed about 3:30 am only to be waken up at 6:45am!
So the boys set a record, they managed to destroy the living room in less then 10 minutes, wrapping paper and empty boxes were everywhere. Scotty quickly got to work assembling the toys and what not, I managed to get the boys to calmed down enough to get them bathed and dressed so they could return to their Nana's and so I could go to work.
Speaking of work, I got there to find one of our resident's daughters had made the employees spaghetti, and I have to say it was the best spaghetti I have ever eaten. So now I am looking forward to working next Christmas!
Here are some pictures of the boys I took once I got them cleaned up......
