A lil way to remind you.........

Since Hoss has been in school I have kept just about everything he has made. Mostly because I hate to throw anything like that away, I have kept every newspaper article he has been mentioned in. His rendition of "How to make a Thanksgiving Turkey" when he was in Kindergarten, I even kept the picture of him mailing his letter to Santa when he was in Head Start (even though his pants were unbuttoned and unzipped in the picture....Poor Ms. Melva did good to keep his pants on him that first year of school...this is the first year he has kept his shoes on while at school).

Well today both boys blessed me with their gifts, Braxton made a ornament with his picture on it, and a wall hanging of his hand prints, Hoss made a wreath out of his hand prints and made red berries out of his thumbprints. Last year for Christmas Hoss gave me an ornament with his hand print on it and they decorated each fingerprint to resemble snowmen, with a laminated poem...

These aren't just five little snowmen
As anyone can see
I made them with my hand
Which is a part of me
Now each year when you trim the tree
You'll look back and recall
Christmas of 2006
When my hand was just this small

These are most favorite things! Even though someday they will remind me how old I have become, and how much they have grown! So for now I will load up on my goodies, but I hope they remember while looking back how excited I was when I got them, because no matter what road they have traveled down, or path they have taken, I am still their MOTHER and I will love them not matter what, but if they want me happy...they will continue to bring me goodies, it doesn't have to be their hand prints, it can be a new house, a new car, a flipping vacation, or anything of that nature.

Those are wonderful keepsakes! I'm just now starting to get some and I love them so much! Hell, I haven't even thrown away one sheet of scribbly paper he has brought home from school yet. So you just keep on saving that stuff up. I plan to. One reason being, I know my mom does not still have anything we made for her as kids. Now the grandkids, thats different of course. THey count! lol

Look at how careless I am. Not to mention my wonderul spelling and typing abilities! Mispelled my own nickname, which Timmy gave me when I was a kid by the way. Just a little family trivia. Okay let's see if I can get it this time....

LOL well you know your sister grades our comments, makes me nervous so I am just going to start leaving little one liners HAHAHAHA I have a box full of every piece of paper Hoss brought home from Head Start and Pre-K but the thrill factor wore off that next year now I just keep the laminated stuff...so looks like I am turning in to our parents, Mother doesnt have a flipping thing from when were kids except for her grey hair and her false teeth! Which none of which her kids gave her, she had those before she had us =)

I don't grade you people!!! (Shanna, I need to see you after class).

I love the mommy gifts too and I do a terrible job of keeping up with them. I have all the ornaments and stuff, but since we've moved nine thousand three hundred and thirty four times I have lost some of the other goodies you mentioned. You've inspired me to try and do better.
