I picked Braxton aka "Santa's Lil Helper" up from daycare at 1:30pm in order to have plenty of time to get him dressed to await the arrival of good ol' St. Nick. When I arrived at daycare he was resting quietly on his cot, Ms. Becca (or Teacher as Braxton likes to call her) woke him up, at first I cringed because he gets his rise and shine skills from yours truly, we are bears, mean vicious bears, if it weren't for Scotty I could seriously eat my young in the mornings! So anyway he wakes and is surprisingly very pleasant. I was thinking alright it's going to be a GREAT afternoon!
So we arrive at the nursing home, go to my office and change his clothes, at first he is so silly, bouncing with every step making the bells ring, at this point I was so proud of my little man, he was actually going to be energetic, cute and outgoing like he normally is when there isn't 150 people staring at him. So we round the corner to leave my office, here it comes...the first "Awwww!!!" then there is an "Ohhhhh!!!" here it comes now "How cute are you!!!" So Braxton takes the elf hat and pulls it down over his eyes and covers his ears up and begins to pout. I wanted to take him by the arm and shake him silly, shake him until that hyped up, outgoing, and spastic kid came back out. (this is probably where I should point out that I acted this way well up into adulthood. I still don't like attention, especially good attention) So the comments just kept coming, more ohhhing, awwwing, snickering, giggling and pointing, at this point Braxton did not want to join in any reindeer games, I should also add we hadn't even made it into the dining room where the Christmas Party was going to be, we were still out in the hallway 50 feet from the door.
Braxton wonders up the hall about 20 feet from me, we hear a bell ringing, I quickly turn my camera to video mode and I focus it in on Braxton who has his back to me, the bell is getting louder and louder. Around the corner comes Santa Claus! YAY! Braxton did not "YAY" he didn't even say his "OH MY DOD" instead he break off in a dead run, I am standing there holding the camera trying to video and Braxton has run behind me grabs ahold of my chins (has wrapped his arms around them) and sticks his out from between my knees, so now the camera is shaking in my hands from my laughing, it still has Santa in focus, when Santa bends down, and looks between my legs and says "Come on helper" Braxton sucks his head back and shuts my knees like they were going to protect him from the mean ol' Kris Kringle.
So Santa moves on in the dining room and yells "HO HO HO Merry Christmas" (but by this time I turning my camera from video back to picture taking mode) but Braxton begins to jump up and down saying "OH MY DOD It's Christmas!!!" Well that was all it took in no time Braxton was delivering presents left and right, they were all delivered unharmed and unopened. One resident even asked Santa to let the elf bring their present next time.
So all in all it was a good party, the residents were happy and that was our only concern, sometimes it only takes a few minutes to make their otherwise lonesome day.
So Santa we hope our deeds were good deeds, and we really hope that when you were loading up your sleigh to leave, that you did not notice the little elf stripping down pants to pee on the tree out in front of the nursing home.

Sorry...I know it wasn't even worth the wait!
That was so funny. I watched the clip several times. I'm still laughing. The way he just takes off running is just precious.
Of course it was worth the wait!
I had to come back and watch that again this morning. Soooo cute.
It didn't work!! Now who is going to make me start my day off with a smile. I was counting on Braxton. My own kids are just grumpy this morning.
Sorry not sure what happened!
