Both boys have been working their tales off, playing baseball.
Well actually, Braxty-boy doesn't really work his tale off, well actually he doesn't really work at all....he just likes to bat and play in the dirt! Thank goodness it's non-competitive so, they don't keep score! The only thing that would of made him happier then getting to bat, would be a big ol' "tormato" to fall out of the sky. Apparently seeing a tornado is all the rage amoung three and four year olds. I learned this last week when they got their baseball uniforms, low and behold there was a blue "tormato" on their ball shirts! GO DIRT DEVILS! Which sums up their team really well. They are all very fond of the dirt, and they are all lil' devils! One thing for sure....they are soooo darn cute out on the field!
Hoss...what can I say about baseball and my Hoss-man, I can honestly and whole heartily say he puts so much heart into it, it scares me. Our pep-talk on the way to his games are usually this..."Son, if you try the best you can, then it doesn't matter what the score is. Momma is proud of you either way, win or lose!" Of course his response is normally how he is gonna do his best. Well we are only a little over a week into the season, and I have to tell you....I am SO PROUD of Hoss. He has a few odds against him prior to stepping on the field, his size, his genetics, and the ignorance of the spectators. Hoss is quite a bit bigger then everyone else on his team, but age-wise he is about in the middle, unfortunately for him he looks years older, so people comment about they way he runs, or his inability to run. He got his flat feet from his father, so when he is running his fastest, it looks like he is barely jogging. He has yet to hit a home run since leaving tee-ball, but what others don't realize is, if he could run at all, he would of hit plenty of home runs. He makes up for it in RBI's, but he still wants a home run. I want it too, so maybe those other pesky mothers would shut their trap about my baby...who does the best he can do, and that is all his parents have asked of him. I have bit my tongue plenty this year, except for one practice, and I can say that haven't chatted about him as much when I am within ear shot of them anyway. Hoss' field position is pitcher, even though they are still coach pitch, so he stands next to their pitcher, well we had a tournament this weekend, Hoss had at least a half dozen assisted outs at first, and he even caught a pop-fly, which shocked him so much he fell to the ground, the crowd sucked wind in unison , but he jumped back up and did NOT drop the ball. YAY! Let's just say....that was his home-run in my books! I AM SO PROUD OF HIM!!!!!!
*Please note I do not think my child is the best on the team, I am only stating how he plays with so much passion, inspite of his size or his inablility to run. I am claiming I am the proudest mother from his team!*
**I will post pictures as soon as I figure out why my dang computer doesn't want to recognize my camera anymore! UGH!!!!**
